I am delighted to announce that I am launching a series of weekend courses at the British School of Upholstered Furniture at Nettlebed in Oxfordshire. The first one will be held on 14th/15th October 2017 and will be aimed at complete beginners. On the first day we will cover lots of different techniques including:
- * Making simple cords
- * Decorative whipping
- * Tassels – knotted, pop-up and other shapes
- * Buttons – using wooden moulds and ruffs
- * Adding stripes
- * Decorative ruffs
- * Netting
By the end of day one you will have a handful of different shaped little tassels and covered buttons. On day two we will put all those techniques together to make a complete project of a naturalistic acorn as used on the beautiful four poster bed at Marchmont House.
The School is based in a delightful wooden clad barn with parking on site. The course runs from 9.30 to 4.30 each day and the fee covers all materials, equipment and lunch.
